RTL’s challenge concerned one of the crucial issues of the SEO: a complete migration of the portal, aimed at a complete graphic restyling and an architectural restructuring.
A delicate issue to face, since it could entail considerable risks for the visibility obtained by the portal, in the form of a real traffic failure.
In order to carry out the migration correctly, a complete mapping of all the resources of the portal was made, so as to be able to distinctively redirect the old resources to the new resources. The infrastructural redesign took into account the safeguarding of URLs by trying to redirect them with respect to the new sections to which they belong (not simply to the home page as we often tend to do, erroneously), given that this was the only way to fully preserve the traffic previously acquired and to safeguard the customer from all risks.
Today the RTL portal, after its migration, has a more agile infrastructure, has maintained its traffic levels and, thanks to the operations carried out, shows a constant and significant growth in the number of visitors.
